Project New Life

Program Mission

To strengthen maternity wards across Ukraine so that access to quality care during pregnancy and childbirth does not depend on the city, hospital budget, or the amount of equipment available in the department.

About the Program

When a doctor does not see changes in a baby’s condition in time during childbirth, every minute can matter.

That is why the New Lives program focuses not simply on providing equipment, but on giving medical teams the ability to identify risks earlier, make more informed decisions, and work without constantly feeling constrained by limited resources.

The Ohmatdyt – Healthy Childhood Charitable Foundation supports regional maternity wards according to their actual needs. This may include:

  • monitoring equipment;

  • delivery room equipment;

  • medical team training;

  • strengthening specific areas according to the hospital’s needs.

One of the key areas of the program is the early detection of risks during childbirth.

Some complications can be prevented or their consequences reduced when doctors have access to real-time data.

That is why fetal monitoring systems (cardiotocographs) are installed in maternity wards. They help monitor the baby’s heart rate, fetal movements, and uterine contractions during labor. This allows medical teams to respond more quickly to changes in the condition of both mother and baby, without losing valuable time.

How Does the Program Work?

1. Request from the Hospital

The hospital approaches the Foundation with a request or a need that it cannot meet with its own resources. This may involve equipment, strengthening a specific area, or upgrading the department’s operations.

2. Needs Assessment

The Foundation’s team works together with the hospital to assess the situation: the department’s workload, existing equipment, critical needs, and possible solutions.

3. Developing a Solution

Based on the assessment, a specific support plan is developed, including the equipment required, training format, technical solutions, and implementation stages.

4. Engaging Partners

The Foundation engages donors and partners to finance the project or individual stages of its implementation.

5. Procurement and Implementation

After the equipment is purchased, the Foundation coordinates its delivery, installation, and integration into the department’s operations.

6. Medical Team Training

Medical teams receive training on how to use the equipment and integrate the solutions into their daily practice.

7. Post-Implementation Support

The Foundation remains in contact with the hospital after the project is implemented to assess outcomes and the effectiveness of the solutions, identify any need for additional training, address new needs, and explore opportunities for further support.

Donation Terms

Funds collected within this project are allocated to achieving the stated fundraising goal.
If the project cannot be fully implemented or the fundraising purpose becomes no longer relevant, the remaining funds may be used by the Foundation for other charitable projects in accordance with its statutory activities.
By making a donation, the donor agrees to the possible reallocation of funds and confirms that the donation is voluntary and non-refundable.
