Leica Surgical Microscope for the Plastic and Reconstructive Microsurgery Unit

A small but important medical breakthrough has taken place at Okhmatdyt’s plastic and reconstructive microsurgery unit. A surgical microscope that had been in use for nearly 30 years has been replaced with a modern European device by Leica.

This is more than a technical upgrade. The new microscope allows surgeons to perform complex procedures with far greater precision and speed. It provides clear, detailed imaging, offers flexible adjustment, and helps surgeons see critical details that were previously difficult or impossible to detect.

Doctors are already seeing tangible results. Surgeries take less time, suturing quality has improved, and patients recover faster. One of the first successes included reattaching an injured finger for a child who might otherwise have lost it.

This microscope is not just a tool. It enables surgeons to work at international standards and gives children access to modern, high-quality care when it matters most.
