Cardiac Monitoring Systems for Safe Childbirth

Zhytomyr City Hospital No. 1 has a maternity ward with 120 beds and more than 2,000 births every year. The workload continues to grow, women arriving from different regions, trusting the hospital’s medical expertise and reputation.

Continuous monitoring of the mother’s and baby’s heart activity during pregnancy and childbirth is critical. These indicators allow doctors to detect risks early, prevent complications, and make life-saving decisions before a situation becomes dangerous.

At present, the maternity ward has only two basic cardiac monitors. Given the daily patient volume, this is not enough to ensure safe and continuous monitoring for all women in labor. In addition, the existing equipment does not provide centralized real-time monitoring in line with modern obstetric standards.

That is why we are raising funds for three Smart Station L8T32 continuous cardiac monitoring systems.

These systems will allow doctors to:

  • monitor multiple patients simultaneously;

  • receive real-time data through a centralized monitoring system;

  • respond immediately to alarming changes without losing critical time.

Fundraising goal: UAH 310,086.

By supporting this project, you help doctors work in conditions that reflect the real needs of the maternity ward — and help women give birth more safely and with greater peace of mind.
